Testimonials

As a youth served by Encompass Youth (EY), I have forged meaningful and compassionate relationships with Encompass Youth and their volunteers. In my time as a justice impacted youth, I have seen support, care, encouragement, and involvement from EY. I have enjoyed being a part of this growing group, and as the years have gone by, EY has impacted so many other justice impacted youth. I’ve seen Transitional Age Youth (TAY) receive new clothes from EY, participated in community based activities such as rock climbing and Christmas tree cutting, and every month an EY visit to the detained youth at the Juvenile Treatment Center (JTC). EY is full of caring members, who want to serve others in meaningful ways. The world could use more of that.

Transitional Age Youth, age 22

Volunteering for Encompass Youth has been an outstanding experience. We work with and support Transitional Age Youth, giving them skills they can utilize as they transition into adulthood. I enjoy getting to know the youth in my community and assisting/counseling them when I can. We truly make a difference in the community.

Robin Galdi, Volunteer Navigator and RN @ Juvenile Treatment Center

Encompass Youth has provided our students with access and the independence that they need to support their life goals. We are very appreciative of their flexibility and genuine care for our students!

As a music educator, I am so appreciative and grateful to be a part of the “TEAM” at Encompass Youth.  Their dedication and commitment to serving youth in our community and beyond is something I am very proud to be affiliated with.  Encompass Youth not only thinks and serves outside the box, but they touch all the corners and fill the inside as well.

Liz Broscoe, Drumming Forward Program Facilitator

Encompass Youth has helped me in so many ways; transitioning into adulthood can be really hard & especially when you’re from a background of no familial support, I was struggling & on the end of my rope after being subject to homelessness & poverty. Encompass Youth treated me with the upmost kindness like a family would, & gave me that chance to get back up again; Judgement free, no questions asked. I’ve grown up in challenging situations my entire life, & I’ve endured & conquered things that children shouldn’t have to go through, & as a result I’ve come out so much more empathetic & resilient. I hope that we can all inspire one another to love & care for our people in the same way Encompass Youth does.

Transitional Age Youth, Age 20

Encompass Youth goes over and beyond to support the youth being served by the Probation Department. So many youth in our community are afforded unique and interesting experiences because of their support at the Juvenile Treatment Center and in the community. The efforts made to support each youth in the stage of life they are in are extraordinary and reinforces the Probation Department’s Vision of Safe Communities through Changed Lives.”

Kaci Smith, Superintendent El Dorado County Probation Department
Juvenile Treatment Center

The collaboration with Encompass Youth has been amazing. EY brings stability to the lives of our youth. Stability that in some cases does not exist otherwise. They have such a supportive nature and they “show up” for the youth when they say they will. The collaboration has really allowed the Blue Ridge Court School to provide some unique learning opportunities to the kids with built-in adult mentoring. These include the Climbing wall, Drumming Forward, and a great collaboration with Community Connections speakers. In some cases, our youth have not had positive, trusting relationships with adults and this partnership has been instrumental in re-establishing those trusting relationships.
